I learned from my source, one of the Salarda's relatives from LA, USA, Jun Sison, native of San Miguel, that annual reunion is celebrated in that town. Color of the shirt they wear identifies ones ancestry. The ancestors in San Miguel is said to be the five (5)children of the unknown Salarda parents, who moved into the town and spread out to neighboring town. The year when they moved in is not yet determined.

My grandfather is from San Miguel Iloilo too
My grandfather Miguel Salarda is from San Miguel too. I don't even know some of my relatives there coz I was still young when we moved here in Janiuay Iloilo but there are also a lot of Salarda's here in Janiuay and one of them is a Principal at Janiuay National Comprehensive High School. There are also some Salarda's in Barotac and one of them is Father Salarda. I am planning to visit San MIguel one of this days if ever I will be given an chance. Posted by rellyn

my grand mother named lucita salarda,but i don't really know which town she came from coz my father was grown at his grand father which is a US army before.. name not to mention coz i really dont know more about thre story.. but for sure if i ask my father about ouor family maybe the next time i can state there names... my mother have also, met a family living in toledo and gues what they are also salarda family and owning a "salarda beach resort". i'm really curious about such thing, where did my family came from?? i know that we're related to each other f we get to know each other!!! hoping to know those things someday.. i have also heard from my grand mother lucita salarda that she have a cousin living in ilo-ilo.. as she mention he was a manager at SM ilo-ilo!! actually, my gran mother is living at tangub, bacolod city and she have mentioned that a lot of salarda family living there..

29 Jan 2008 - Julym (boyet) Salarda of San Diego, CA., mentioned that his family in San Miguel, has other ancestor other than the 5 siblings mentioned earlier. 10-2007 to 1-4-2008 My last visit to La, Ca. shed a little light when I meet one of Salarda's decendant telling me that I'm his 4th cousin and my wife is his 3rd cousin according to his mother. I have a doubt that it is more than likely on my mother side, since the ancestor of my mother and his mother came from the same barrio of San Miguel. The question is still hanging in the air until maybe I'll be given the list or his family tree. It is also mentioned that there are 5 Salarda siblings 3 migrated in San Miguel, 1 in Alimodian and 1 in Ajoy. See family tree under Manuel & Pili Salarda, their parents are still unknown. The Salarda's from Texas and Hawaii also claims that their grand parents were from Leyte and great grand parents came from San Miguel, Iloilo. Their great grand parents shown in the family tree could be the link or closely related to the Salarda's in San Miguel but who and which one. It is unfortunate knowing that my wife is related to me but I don't know how. I started building my wife's and my own family tree hoping to see the connection but as of now nothing yet. When I started this website and started searching the Salarda thru internet I found a lot of names living and dead just seated their for whatever reasons. I started collecting them with a thought to reconnect them just like what I'm about to do with my wife's family tree. My Dad was from Leyte...their grandparents migrated from Iloilo long time ago. I’ve been to Iloilo city (12 years ago) as a computer instructor and met some Salardas from San Miguel…Have you heard about Fr. Salarda? I have met Salarda family in Houston and they are from Bohol…I think the Salardas are originally from Iloilo I am working here as a math teacher Based in Houston Texas I just moved here 4 years ago. We have visited my wife’s relatives in Bartlett Illinois last christmas. My family lives in Honolulu Hawaii

Yes, my real name is Sheny Lyn C. Salarda. I don't know exactly how far or closely related we are. All I know is this, my dad is from Leyte. And that the Salardas are spread-out all over the world. Some of my closest Salarda relatives are in Texas and Hawaii, the others I simply do not know. I will ask my dad about this. If you have friendster account or myspace, some of my relatives are there.
